Police search for seafood restaurant burglars
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify two burglars who stole a cash register from a seafood restaurant last month in the city’s Woodstock neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.
Police said they responded just after 11:30 p.m. Oct. 6 to a burglary alarm at AJ Seafood on North Edgewood Avenue, where they found the front glass door smashed.
About a month later, investigators released the surveillance video that captured the incident inside the restaurant.
The owner of AJ Seafood told News4Jax that it was the second time that the restaurant had been hit in two months.
Food, two TVs and a cash register were stolen the first time, he said. The second time, the cash register in the front office, which contained $6,000, and food were taken, the owner said.
The cash registers were worth about $400 each, the owner said.
