Increase in number visitor numbers to Nor-Fishing
This year’s Nor-Fishing exhibition saw a major increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous event in 2014.
The 22% increase in attendance put the total number of visitors for the show, which took place from 16-19 August, to 17,460.
Alongside this, the number of visitors coming from different nations was also much higher than previous years. Technologically minded people visited Trondheim from 56 countries, this was a 27% increase on 2014.
Scantrol Deep Vision won the Innovation Award for 2016 on the first day of the exhibition, which saw 3881 visitors walk through its doors.
The Best Stand Award went to Wärtsilä, while Møre & Romsdal County and Fiskeriportalen were the runners-up, with the Directorate of Fisheries Environment Award going to Nordic Wildfish.
Numbers hit a high of 5667 visitors on Wednesday and 5335 on Thursday, on the last day of the exhibition, the students were welcomed to a special Student Day.
For the first time this year the show had a waiting list for exhibition space and was full up by February 2016. 550 exhibitors took part this year, a 25% increase compared to last year.
The good news is that a new larger hall will be in place by the time the next Nor-Fishing show takes place in 2018.
