The new Klondyke pelagic vessel is a Rolls-Royce design
Westcon Yards has been awarded a contract to build a pelagic trawler for the Klondyke Shipping Company, owned by the Tait family in Scotland.
The newbuild for Klondyke Fishing Company is a Rolls-Royce-designed pelagic trawler with a length of 74.80m and a 15.50m beam. The company currently operates three pelagic trawlers from Fraserburgh in Scotland. Its newest vessel, Chris Andra, was delivered by Westcon Yards in 2006, and the new vessel will be the first of a new generation for the Klondyke Fishing Company, owned by the Tait family, who among Scotland’s largest quota holders.

Westcom Yards has invested more than NoK300 million in upgrades to its yards at Olen, Karmsund, Floro and Helgeland over the years to strengthen its position within its primary markets such as fishing, industry and defence.
