Monday saw a return to small craft advisories and the weather does not look to improve much during the week.
We had further reports of excellent tog and sheepshead fishing over the weekend. The Outer Wall and the Ice Breakers were two good locations for both species of fish with a combinations of green crabs and sand fleas providing much of the action.
Indian River Inlet has not seen much in the way of tog or sheepshead yet the Ocean City Inlet has produced both in reasonable numbers. It is my understanding that anglers fish the inside of the south jetty by drifting along and dropping sand fleas into the rocks. Not exactly something I have nerve enough to do, but no more dangerous than toggling off to the ocean side of the Outer Wall.
According to Lighthouse View Tackle the only fish caught at the Fishing Pier on Cape Henlopen State Park were small blues. The wind was pretty strong and not too many folks fished here on Monday. Flounder should still be available here.
This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
